Build once. Ship in weeks.

FastEdgy is our open source foundation: a full-stack core combining FastAPI, Vue and Flutter, born from our products and shared across all our projects. Everything a SaaS usually rebuilds during its first three months already exists, proven in production. What remains is the essential: your business.

Written once. Proven everywhere.

The observation

Every SaaS rebuilds the same first three months.

Authentication, accounts and permissions, API, migrations, transactional emails, background tasks, i18n, file storage: before writing the first line of its business logic, a product team spends months on plumbing everyone has already written elsewhere. That time is the most expensive of a project’s life: the time when there is still nothing to show.

We wrote that plumbing once, properly, by extracting it from our own products. Then we made it public under the MIT license. FastEdgy is that foundation: the common base of every studio project, documented, versioned, maintained daily.

Scale ready

Scalability is not a promise. It is the starting point.

Two founders can carry an ambitious product when the architecture is not waiting to ambush them. Everything that lets a SaaS absorb growth is in place from the start, not bolted on under pressure the day traction arrives.

01

Multi-tenant

Data isolation, native.

  • Workspace-level partitioning from the first commit
  • Secure cross-workspace sharing, closed by default
  • Multi-client SaaS is the standard, not an option

02

Load

Built to absorb growth.

  • Persistent async tasks with automatic retries
  • Multiple workers, horizontal scaling
  • Monitoring and progress tracking included

03

Security

Authentication, ready and proven.

  • Complete JWT: sessions, refresh, forgotten passwords
  • Access control separated from business logic
  • The same bricks as our products in production

04

Continuity

Nothing rests on anyone’s memory.

  • Public conventions, identical across all projects
  • 80+ pages of versioned docs, maintained daily
  • An auditable foundation that survives every scenario

The investor equation

The velocity of a duo, without the debt of a prototype.

Every project strengthens the shared foundation instead of scattering the effort, and the pace is public: tagged versions, daily commits, up-to-date documentation.

The foundation itself is a de-risked asset: open source and auditable, it survives every scenario. What Krafter sells is not a black box, it is the mastery of a foundation anyone can inspect.

The mechanics

Declare the business. The foundation generates the rest.

A business model declared in Python instantly gets its complete REST API, with its schemas, OpenAPI documentation, pagination, filters and metadata ready to power dynamic interfaces. The base is AI-ready: embeddings and semantic search are supported natively, and the foundation’s docs can be queried by code assistants through MCP.

The weeks of a FastEdgy project are not spent wiring libraries together. They go to the business: the screens, the rules and the flows that differentiate the product. That is what compresses go to market down to a few weeks, without sacrificing the architecture.

Generated API
8 REST actions per declared model: list, read, create, update, delete, export, import, import template.
Queries
Combinable filters, sorting, pagination, field selection: without a single line of code.
Interfaces
Model metadata powers dynamic forms and views on the client side.
Scope
16+ production-ready features, publicly documented and versioned.

Reversibility

Your code is yours. The foundation stays public.

You can take the code back, hand it to another team or bring it in-house: no dependency on Krafter is required to keep your product alive.

The business layer

Your product

The screens, the rules, the flows: everything that differentiates your product.

100% yours

The foundation

FastEdgy

Auth, API, multi-tenant, jobs, i18n, storage: the plumbing proven in production.

MIT · public forever

And this foundation is no showcase: it is the one under our own software. Kascade, Melimelo, Trottr and Smashr rely on the same base. Every improvement made for our products benefits your project, and vice versa.

Conviction

« A framework is a technical opinion. FastEdgy is ours: made public, documented, proven on our products. We ask no one to take our word for it: everything is on GitHub.»

FAQ

An ambitious project and a tight timeline? The first call is the same for everyone: 30 minutes to understand your context.

Talk about your project

FastEdgy, open source and your project.

Because the value of a product does not live in its foundation: it lives in the business layer. Making the foundation public de-risks our clients’ projects, backs our technical standards with proof, and holds us to a documentation and quality discipline everyone benefits from.

No. The foundation is MIT licensed and publicly documented, and the business layer built for your project is entirely yours. You can bring development in-house or hand it to another team: the foundation stays public and usable.

Your project does not start from zero: authentication, accounts, API, migrations, emails, background tasks, i18n and file storage exist from day one, proven in production. Development time goes to your business logic, which makes a first version live in production within weeks possible.

Both Krafter founders. François Pluchino is the lead dev, Fabien Maquin contributes to design and product direction. The framework evolves at the pace of the studio’s projects: tagged versions, versioned documentation, daily development.

Python 3.13 and FastAPI on the server, PostgreSQL as the database, Vue 3 on the web, Flutter on mobile. Current, major, durable technologies: the same ones running our own software in production.
