Flutter, Google’s framework

Flutter agency.

Krafter builds your iOS and Android apps in Flutter, Google’s framework: one codebase, compiled to native code for both stores. Two senior partners near Lyon, France design, code, publish and maintain the app, and the server behind it.

One codebase. Two stores.

Definition

What is a Flutter agency?

Flutter is Google’s open source framework for building mobile apps. A single codebase, written in Dart, produces an iOS app and an Android app, both compiled to native code. A Flutter agency designs the app, builds it, publishes it on the App Store and Google Play, then maintains it through every new iOS and Android release. At Krafter, it also delivers the server, the back office and the connections to your tools, and the repository, store accounts and access are put in your name at the end of the project.

Framework
Flutter, created by Google, open source. Dart language.
Platforms
iOS and Android from a single codebase, and the web when the project calls for it.
At Krafter
In production since 2024, with Melimelo on both stores.
Entry price
MVPs from €6,000 excl. VAT, for a well-defined need.
Timeline
4 to 8 weeks of development, 8 to 12 weeks to the stores.

The proof

Melimelo, our Flutter app, is rated 4.7/5 on the App Store.

4.7/5

on the App Store, 421 ratings, October 2026.

4.6/5

on Google Play, 306 reviews, October 2026.

50+

versions published, none rejected by Apple or Google.

1 to 2

days of Apple review, as a rule.

Melimelo is our home organization app, built in Flutter and published on iOS and Android. It accounts for most of the 25,000 people who use Krafter products every day. It is not a demo: it is a product we run, fix and improve ourselves.

Over 50 versions have gone through Apple and Google review without a single rejection. What Melimelo teaches us about notifications, permissions, older devices and store rules goes straight into our clients’ apps. The app is free to try on the App Store and on Google Play, and its story is on the Melimelo page.

Budget

How much does a Flutter app cost?

A Flutter app costs €6,000 to €25,000 excl. VAT for an MVP published on the stores, and €25,000 to €60,000 excl. VAT for a complete app. Offline mode, geolocation, integrations and payments move the number. Here is our public price grid, no fine print.

ItemBudget and timelineWhat it covers
Flutter MVP, iOS and Android€6,000 to €25,000 excl. VAT. 4 to 8 weeks of development, 8 to 12 weeks to the stores.Core screens, authentication, publication on the App Store and Google Play.
Complete app€25,000 to €60,000 excl. VAT. 3 to 5 months.Back office, sync with your system, push notifications, built-in payments.
Offline or geolocation€30,000 to €70,000 excl. VAT. 4 to 6 months.Local storage, sync when the network returns, location tracking. Scoped from day one.
Integration€2,000 to €15,000 excl. VAT per connection.Connection to an ERP, a CRM or an existing API.
Payments+€2,000 to €5,000 excl. VAT one-off, +€4,000 to €10,000 excl. VAT for subscriptions.One-off purchases or subscriptions managed in the app.
Scoping+€3,000 to €6,000 excl. VAT.When processes, business rules and screens still need to be defined with us.
Stores$99 per year at Apple, $25 once at Google.Developer accounts in your name. Listings, submission and review follow-up included.
Maintenance8 to 12% of development per year, then €700 to €1,100 excl. VAT per day or time credits.Updates for each iOS, Android and Flutter release, security, then new features.

A two-step timeline

Building an MVP takes 4 to 8 weeks. Store publication comes at 8 to 12 weeks. The gap covers testing on real phones, store listings, submission and first feedback. At Apple, Melimelo’s review usually takes 1 to 2 days. A complete app takes 3 to 5 months.

Why a €6,000 floor

An app never starts from scratch at Krafter. FastEdgy, our open source foundation, saves rewriting what already exists. Two senior partners rely on AI to write the code, then review and test every line. There is no sales layer in between. That price holds when you know exactly what you want: processes, business rules and screens already defined. It goes up if we need to shape the thinking with you or add payments.

Comparison

Flutter or React Native, native or PWA: which one?

For most iOS and Android apps, Flutter strikes the best balance between cost, performance and maintenance. It is not an absolute rule. React Native makes sense if a JavaScript team will take over the app. Native keeps the edge for a very specific hardware need. And a PWA is often enough for an internal tool: Trottr, our field service software, made that choice, installed on technicians’ phones without going through the stores.

FlutterFlow

FlutterFlow or Flutter: when to move to code?

FlutterFlow is enough to prototype. Once business logic, integrations or maintenance weigh in, it is time to move to Flutter code. FlutterFlow is a visual tool that assembles screens and generates Flutter code. To test an idea, show a flow to users or convince a partner, it is fast and cheap. A prototype is there to learn, not to last.

Business logic

Calculation rules, role-based access, edge cases. When logic piles up in visual blocks, every change becomes risky.

Integrations

Payments, ERP, CRM, in-house APIs. Each connection needs a real server and tested code.

Maintenance

New iOS and Android releases, growing load, several developers. Readable, versioned code goes the distance.

Code exported from FlutterFlow is Flutter code, so it can be taken over. It is rarely production-ready as is. Krafter starts with a 1 to 3 day audit, €700 to €3,300 excl. VAT: written report, costed plan, video debrief. The report says what to keep and what to rewrite, before any commitment on development.

Who builds it

Freelancer or Flutter studio?

A freelance Flutter developer fits a focused assignment, in a team that already runs the product. A studio fits when the whole app has to be carried, from scoping to maintenance. A Flutter app never lives alone: it needs a server, a back office, store accounts and someone to follow every new iOS and Android release.

At Krafter, your contacts are Fabien Maquin, CEO, and François Pluchino, CTO. They scope, design and write the code themselves. The server runs on Python and PostgreSQL, the back office on Vue.js, the app on Flutter: one team for the whole thing, and the same code followed over time.

Use cases

Flutter handles business apps. Flutter web, case by case.

Business apps

Flutter works very well for team tools and field apps: technicians, sales reps, delivery drivers. Photos, signatures, scanning, geolocation, offline mode when the network drops. The app talks to the same server as your back office, and data stays up to date on both sides. Plan for €30,000 to €70,000 excl. VAT when offline mode or geolocation comes into play.

Flutter web

Flutter can also produce a web version from the same code. It makes sense when your users need the exact same app in a browser, a client portal for instance. For a dense back office full of tables and forms, or a site that must rank well in search, Vue.js remains a better fit. Our usual setup: Flutter app, Vue.js back office, both plugged into the same Python server.

Method

Building a Flutter app, step by step.

An installable build on your phones every 1 to 2 weeks. No tunnel effect, no surprise at review time.

Scoping

1 to 2 weeks

Users, priority use cases, MVP scope. If your screens and rules are already defined, this step gets shorter.

When the thinking still needs to happen with us, scoping is added to the budget: €3,000 to €6,000 excl. VAT.

Mockups and architecture

Flows screen by screen, data model, and a clear decision between Flutter, PWA or native.

What will be built is validated together, before the first line of code.

Flutter and server development

builds every 1 to 2 weeks

The app, the server and the back office move forward together. Every build installs on your devices.

AI writes a large share of the code. Every line is reviewed and tested by a senior partner.

Store publication

Store listings, screenshots, submission, Apple and Google review follow-up. The accounts are in your name.

On Melimelo, over 50 versions published, none rejected. Apple review usually takes 1 to 2 days.

Maintenance and new features

over time

Updates for each iOS, Android and Flutter release, fixes, new features.

Upkeep at 8 to 12% of development per year, new features by time spent or time credits. At the end of the project, Git repository, accounts and access are in your name.

Before choosing your Flutter agency.

Flutter is an open source framework created by Google to build mobile, web and desktop apps. The code, written in Dart, compiles to native code for iOS and Android, so a single codebase serves both platforms. Krafter has run Flutter in production since 2024, including Melimelo, published on the App Store and Google Play.

An iOS and Android app that is designed, built, published on the stores and then maintained. At Krafter, delivery also covers the server, the back office and the connections to your tools. At the end of the project, the Git repository, store and cloud accounts and all access are in your name; only the open source stack stays under its own license.

A Flutter MVP costs €6,000 to €25,000 excl. VAT, store publication included. A complete app with back office, notifications and payments runs from €25,000 to €60,000 excl. VAT. With offline mode or geolocation, plan for €30,000 to €70,000 excl. VAT. The budget simulator gives your range in 8 questions.

An MVP takes 4 to 8 weeks of development and 8 to 12 weeks until it is live on the stores. A complete app takes 3 to 5 months, and 4 to 6 months with offline mode or geolocation. An installable build lands on your phones every 1 to 2 weeks.

That price holds when you know exactly what you want: processes, business rules and screens already defined. It comes from FastEdgy, our open source foundation, and from two senior partners who rely on AI and review every line, with no sales layer. The price goes up if we need to shape the thinking with you or add payments.

Both produce iOS and Android apps from a single codebase. Flutter draws its interface with its own engine, identical on both platforms, and compiles to native code. React Native relies on JavaScript and each system’s components. React Native makes sense if a JavaScript team will take over the app. Otherwise, Flutter is our default choice.

For the vast majority of apps, yes. Flutter code compiles to native code: it is not web wrapped in a shell. Melimelo, our Flutter app, is rated 4.7/5 on the App Store and 4.6/5 on Google Play as of October 2026. Native keeps the edge for a hardware need that is very specific to one platform.

For a prototype, often yes: FlutterFlow assembles screens quickly and generates Flutter code. When business logic, integrations or maintenance get heavier, it is time to move to code. Krafter takes over exported code after a 1 to 3 day audit, €700 to €3,300 excl. VAT, with a written report and a costed plan.

A freelance Flutter developer is a good fit to strengthen a team that already runs the product. A complete app also needs a server, a back office, store publication and maintenance. At Krafter, two senior partners cover all of it and remain your direct contacts. Their limit: few projects at the same time.

An Apple developer account costs $99 per year, a Google one $25 once. The accounts are in your name. Store listings, submission and review follow-up are included in our projects. Melimelo has shipped over 50 versions, none rejected by Apple or Google.

Keeping the app in working order costs about 8 to 12% of the development budget per year: updates for each iOS, Android and Flutter release, plus security. New features are billed by time spent, €700 to €1,100 excl. VAT per day, or through time credits. An app that does not keep up with the platforms ends up removed from the stores.

Flutter can also produce a web version from the same code. That helps when the app must exist as is in a browser. For a back office full of tables and forms, or a site that must rank well in search, Vue.js remains a better fit. Our usual setup: Flutter app, Vue.js back office, same Python server.
